Be-Mag Issue 38 marks the 15 year anniversary of Be-Mag. During Christmas of 1996 Be-Mag was founded. A great deal has changed in our industry since then, and despite lean times in our industry we've continued to shoot, write and gather all the best content together in print for you, our readers. We've proven the test of time while most of our contemporaries have gone by the wayside.
This Be-Mag issue also marks another milestone: It will be the last issue in the current design as we are re-designing and re-booting the print magazine for Issue 39. In times of Social Media and the plethora of online content, a print magazine is a strong and necessary statement, and also gives Rollerblading a strong footprint all over the physical world and we will emphasize this with the up and coming relaunch.
For Issue 38 our main interview is with Stefan Horngacher. An interview which was 15 years in the making, as we had coverage of Stefan since the very first issue of Be-Mag, even in the legendary 'Zero Issue' of Be-Mag. Alex Broskow took us on a tour through the USA, and is featured in a portfolio shot by Brandon Smith and Ivan Narez. Old school and new blood skaters, Dan Busta, Ryan Schude, Kevin Yee, Nick Rother, Bistro, Drew Bachrach, came together for an amazing tour through Colorado. Michael Braud reminds us once again why he is known for stunts. We are also taking a look back at BCSD and Winterclash to prepare you for next year’s contests. We also caught up with Christian Berg who built his own skatepark. He decided to take matters into his own hands instead of complaining all the time, something we would encourage everyone to do.
Watch out for the brand new issue at your favourite skateshop and news-stands worldwide featuring an all-inclusive action thrill coverage through the current world of Rollerblading!
We are always looking for people who can support us, so please drop us a line at contribute@be-mag.com if you want to help us with print work, online udpates or anything else.
- Michael Bayr (Be-Mag Co-founder) & Oliver Nermerich
